Privacy Policy
Dad Brand Apparel — Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 11, 2025
Who we are: Dad Brand, LLC (“Dad Brand Apparel,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
We care about your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, emails, ads, and any services that link to this notice.
-
Personal information we collect
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device, and from partners (such as payment, analytics, advertising, and shipping providers).
• Identifiers & contact details: name, email, phone, shipping/billing address, account ID, IP address, device identifiers.
• Order & payment details: items purchased, cart actions, returns, last four digits of card, card token/authorization, transaction totals and tax. We do not store full payment card numbers; our payment processor handles them.
• Device, cookies & usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referrer, coarse location based on IP, browser/OS, and similar diagnostics.
• Marketing preferences & user‑generated content: newsletter/SMS opt‑ins, product reviews, survey responses, messages to support.
• Inferences: preferences we derive (for example, size, style, or likely interests) from other data.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data (such as precise geolocation or government IDs). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
-
Why we use your information
• Fulfillment & operations: take orders, process payments, ship, handle returns, and provide customer support; prevent fraud and maintain security.
• Personalization & improvement: remember your cart, recommend products, run analytics and diagnostics.
• Marketing: send email/SMS (with your consent where required), promotions, and ads for our products.
• Legal, compliance & safety: tax/accounting, legal requests, and protecting rights, property, and safety.
Legal bases for EEA/UK visitors: where GDPR applies, we rely on contract (to provide what you purchase/request), legitimate interests (for example, site security and limited analytics/marketing), consent (for example, email/SMS and certain cookies/ads), and legal obligations (for example, taxes).
-
Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies
We use:
• Strictly necessary cookies (to make the site and cart work),
• Functional/performance cookies (analytics, A/B testing), and
• Advertising cookies/pixels (to measure and show Dad Brand ads).
Managing cookies: You can adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies. Where required, we present a cookie banner with controls.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) / Universal Opt‑Out: If your browser sends a recognized opt‑out preference signal like GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” (as defined by law) for that browser and, when we can identify you, your account. You can also use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our website footer.
Ad choices: You may limit interest‑based advertising using your device and platform settings and industry opt‑out tools offered by advertising self‑regulatory programs. These choices are browser- and device‑specific.
-
How we share information
We share information as needed to run our business and as permitted by law:
• Service providers (processors): payment, shipping, email/SMS, cloud hosting, analytics, security, customer support.
• Advertising & analytics partners: to measure campaign performance and, where allowed, to show relevant Dad Brand ads. Some of this activity may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain U.S. state laws.
• Business transfers: in connection with mergers, financing, or sale of assets.
• Legal & safety: to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights, property, and safety.
We do not sell your information for money. -
Retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Typical periods include:
• Orders, tax, and accounting records: up to 7 years
• Customer support and warranty: up to 3 years
• Marketing preferences: until you opt out or delete your account
• Analytics/ads data: generally 12–26 months (or shorter where the law requires)
When data is no longer needed, we delete or de‑identify it. Where a specific legal period applies, we follow it. -
Your rights and choices
Your rights depend on where you live; we honor requests as required by applicable law.
U.S. state privacy rights (for example, CA, CO, CT, VA and others): You may request to access, correct, or delete personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising and the “sale”/“sharing” of personal information. California residents may also limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. We honor recognized opt‑out preference signals such as GPC where required.
Appeals: If we deny a request and your state law provides an appeal right, you may appeal using the same method. We will respond within the required timeframe and tell you how to contact your Attorney General if you’re unsatisfied.
EEA/UK rights under GDPR: Where GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, data portability, and not be subject to certain automated decisions. You may also complain to your local Data Protection Authority.
How to exercise your rights: Email privacy@dadbrandapparel.com, use the privacy request form linked in our website footer, or mail us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity (and, in California, we accept requests from authorized agents). We aim to respond within legal deadlines and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Opting out of marketing:
• Email: click “Unsubscribe.”
• SMS: reply STOP to opt out; HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
-
“Sale,” “sharing,” and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” or “sell” (as certain state laws define those terms) identifiers and browsing activity with advertising partners to show you Dad Brand ads. To opt out, use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer or enable a recognized preference signal (for example, GPC). -
Children’s privacy
Our site is intended for adults and for teens shopping with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. -
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including TLS (SSL) encryption in transit, access controls, and regular monitoring. No method is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe. -
International transfers
If you are outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries that may not provide the same level of protection. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. -
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We currently respond to legally recognized opt‑out preference signals (for example, GPC) as described above. Traditional “Do Not Track” browser signals are not standardized, so we do not respond to them. -
Financial incentives (for example, “10% off your first order”)
If we offer discounts or perks in exchange for your personal information (such as an email sign‑up), we will present a Notice of Financial Incentive that explains the material terms, the categories of data involved, and how to opt in or withdraw. -
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when needed. We will post the new effective date at the top and, if changes are material, we will provide additional notice. -
